Member meeting Tuesday May 17th baked ham dinner with corn pone served by our rental chair Jay Timmons. Freewill donation accepted serving at 6:30. Sounds like our 1st VP Warren Gardner will be speaker on the new group we have that will be for Iowans that you can join to help you defend in the event of your having defended yourself with your gun.
We will have some recap on our state convention too as well as open trap is going on afterwards. Our spring trap league will be winding down about the end of May.
We have our summer rifle league on Wednesdays starting after the Memorial day weekend. Please reach out to Scott Wendt at 641-512-8756. Summer Trap leagues will be on Thursday nights so watch for those to be announced on Facebook and if you have any questions please call Kevin King at 515-442-6009.
There will be a family free fishing weekend of June 4th. The Ikes will be helping out the Friends of Warren County at the Lester's Pond that Saturday. Besides help needed with the youth that will be fishing there we are also holding a clinic on cleaning their fish and also will have a cooking demonstration as well. Please reach out to Warren County Conservation at 515-961-6169 with any questions and if you can also help out I would be a good one to contact at 515-229-7418.
With our Spring turning off to Summer instead it seems like the rain and this heat is sure making the grass grow. Our chapter grounds director is Kirk Fulton and he can use some help out there. Please let me know if you can help out maybe once a month or more often but even just helping out 3 or 4 times this summer will go along way around keeping our chapter grounds looking good.
Thank you for taking the time to read our short update on our Ike's Club and remember the National Ike's are celebrating the 100th Anniversary of conservation. You can find out more of what is going on by logging in the the national site at www.IWLA.org.
