Member meeting Tuesday July 19th 6:30 is meal time. 1st VP Warren Gardner will be hosting this with wife Sherry Gardner doing the meal for the meeting. Warren will be sharing a class after the meal with setting up your bow and why this will work out best for you. Also some shooting techniques to help others shoot better as well and time for Q & A at the end of the evening.

I and my sister Lisa along with Rick Cerwick will be attending the 100th Izaak Walton national convention in East Peoria next week so we will not make it to the membership meeting. Lots of conservation topics to attend to as well as other action items involving the clean waters of America. We will provide some updates after we get back for our next meeting. Speaking of that it is our August Meeting that we will be having our elections for 6 of our board positions.

The positions up for election are 2nd VP Gerald Ancell, Secretary Paul Rogalla, Archery Chair Kyle Reed, Rifle Range Chair Scott Huston, Rental Chair Jay Timmons, and Property Chair Kirk Fulton. Nominations can be made from night of the meeting. If you have any interest in these positions, please let me know and I can help answer them for you.

We have an open house planned for Sunday August 7th from 10 to 2 or along those lines. Please let myself or Lisa know if you can help out or check in to see what we will need help with. Plans are to have both the rifle and archery ranges open for the public use. As well as the trap grounds too.

Our neighbors to the north Des Moines chapter will have their sweet corn feed on Tuesday night the 9th of August. I hope that some of your members can make it there!

Lisa mentions that there is another opportunity to be in a parade on the 30th of July too. It is the Celebrate Warren County Parade at 10 am. Line up is at 9 am at the Memorial Park and will go up D street then around Simpson College and back to Irving Schools. Come along and ride our wagon/float and waive at the folks along the route. Our opportunity to invite the community out to our open house the next weekend.
